Czechmates Two-holed Brick Bracelet

Here'e another design using the new Czechmates Brick bead. I wanted to make a bracelet that one could wear with the Art Deco necklace that I just posted.

The pattern is very similar to the Art Deco necklace. I used the same materials except for the fire-polished beads. Here, I ended up using 8 mm crystal rondelles for some added sparkle. And, sadly, I'd run out of the fire-polished rounds.
With the closest bead store being two hours away, the question, "What if...?", came into play. The answer, in my opinion, turned out to be quite nice.
I really appreciate your comments, advice and input on any piece that I post. So keep it coming!
Blessings and happy beading!

New Czechmate Bricks

Several new bead shapes from Starman, Inc. were recently unveiled at the Tuscon Gem and Bead Show. As a designer for Starman, Inc., I had the privaledge to get to play with these new beads before the big show.
Today, I'm sharing a design using the Czechmates Two-holed Brick bead. This bead is about half of the size of the Czechmates Two-holed Tile bead and is so much fun to design with.

This necklace uses both the tile and the brick to create a structured Art Deco design. Czech Fier-polished beads, 1.8 mm cubes, crystals, and seed beads complete the piece. I think any color combination would be fabulous in this design.
Hopefully, you'll be able to find the new Czechmates Brick in bead stores soon! Blessings and happy beading!

What a Hiatus!

It's been two months since I posted anything. Although I haven't blogged at all, I've been very busy. My fingers have been worked harder than ever. In fact, I wonder if it is possible to just develop muscle mass only on one's digits? Mine look a little "beefy" from all of my beading workouts! So, what on earth have I been doing the past couple of months?
I have had the wonderful opportunity to get to "play" with new bead shapes that aren't yet on the market and creating designs using those new shapes. Starman, Inc, a wholesale Czech bead company, will be unveiling those new bead shapes in Tuscon this week. So, I can't yet share those new designs until the beads are available to the public. I think the new shapes are fabulous and I believe you will find them fun to work with.
One of the new designs I created with a new bead, will be featured in the August/September issue of Beadwork.  That is another reason I've been absent. I've been preparing all that is needed for the publication. It's a lengthy process and I was on a serious time crunch.

Design by Sabine Lippert
On my very limited down time, I made this bracelet for my sister for Christmas. It is a design from Sabine Lipperts book, Bead Fantasies. The colors I used were fuscia Swarovski crystals, matte gold Czech fire-polished beads and matte rainbow purple bugle beads.
Bead Fantasies is a wonderful book filled with beautiful, layered designs. I recommend it for any beader's library.
   Blessings and happy beading!
